The Yomper heads to number 10!

Welcome to the Running Men Website.

Commando999’s ‘flagship’ event is the London speedmarch but for various reasons, not everyone can participate. That is where the running men come in!
Started in 2012 with the idea of completing an endurance event every month, fund raising ideas extended in to cake sales, a book club and even a garden party.
At the end of the year, £3,797.88 was raised by Running Man Colin Symington and friends, before adding on gift aid!
We know that fund raising can be a bit daunting but having built on our experiences we now have a fairly good idea of what works and what doesn’t. Get friend and family on board to help out with support and ideas. The on line payments aren’t for everyone either so we have produced the good old fashioned sponsor form which you can download from the Running Men site.
Tell us what you are doing and we can help spread the word.

Send us your photos and we can get them on line. There are loads

of local events out there, runs, triathlons and adventure races.
All you have to do is select an event that suits you, get signed up

and start raising money for commando999 as a Running Man!
We are with bmycharity so just open a page and join the Running

men group to show off how much you have raised.

A message from Colin, founder of RunningMen:

Last year, I completed a 'challenge' every month. I took part in multi marathons, triathlons and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. With the support of friends, raised over £4000.

This year, i'm on the fund raising trail again hoping to raise as much as possible through various fund raising events, concluding once more at the London speedmarch.

'As a ‘runningman’, there is no actual requirement to be either a man or even a runner! Although endurance ‘challenges’ are our speciality, experience has taught us that there are a variety of ways to raise money.

We have had cake sales, a garden party and other activities taking us to where we now are.

Sport is crucial in rehabilitation from injury and we have seen injured Royal Marines play a key role in the current Paralympics. Triathlete and double amputee Joe Townsend took part in the opening ceremony carrying the torch and there is also former marine Arthur Williams who is one of the presenters. These guys are an inspiration and an example of what can be achieved after injury.

We can all do something to help by either donating or taking part in an event. If you have any ideas yourself, please put it on our Facebook page.

Please help us spread the word about the ‘Commando999 runningmen’ and share with your friends.
Thank you for your support
Colin'
